RGA-3 Refinery Gas Analyzer

The RGA-3 refinery gas GC is a fully
functional refinery gas analyzer. The unit provides linear response for
hydrogen concentrations from 0.02 - 100%. Hydrogen sulfide is analyzed with no
difficulty. Water from wet samples is tolerated and causes no problems.
Liquefied samples use CIC's optional
vaporizer (integrally mounted on the GC) with excellent results. A heated
transfer line from the vaporizer assures gas phase injection of liquefied
samples. This means the same sample injection valve used for gas phase
injections is used for liquid samples, therefore a separate and easily plugged
liquid sampling valve is not required.
In many older refinery gas GC systems, all
heavies regardless of carbon number, are backflushed as one peak. Therefore
accurate response factors for heavies are very difficult to assign using these
systems. In some cases the backflushed peak includes water and it goes to a
TCD! With CIC's new refinery gas GC, heavy components are selectively grouped
by carbon number and sent to the FID as individual carbon number peaks. The C6
components will all be contained in one peak, the C8 components will all be in
another separate peak, etc. This permits the use of easily obtained standards
for accurate heavies determinations.
Most of the current refinery gas GC's do not
resolve all of the chromatographic peaks of interest in a typical refinery gas
or condensed liquid sample. The RGA-3 system completely resolves all of the
peaks generally seen in most refinery gas and condensed liquid samples. This
system can also be used to perform analyses on C2, C3 and C4 hydrocarbon or olefin
samples, as well as natural gas samples.
Compare the chromatogram above to those from
other refinery gas analyzers and then compare the prices. We believe this will
put one of our new RGA-3 refinery gas GC's in your laboratory soon.
